Thank you for stopping by The Dragon Spot. Please take the time to browse the site and read more about bearded dragons. We’ve tried to centralize a vast knowledge base of information covering all aspects of owning and caring for bearded dragons “beardies”. We specialize in breeding high quality red/orange color morphs, Hypo Translucent leatherbacks but have some white and yellow lines that look to be very promising. All breeding projects for 2011 are completed, please check back for any changes. We usually start back up in February.

How did we get started with bearded dragons? Our kids wanted a bearded dragon one Christmas, that’s all we heard. We saw a presentation at my youngest sons school and they had a bearded dragon explaining how good of a pet it makes and how well he was acting with each of the kids, he was really into the crowd. So, I started thinking of getting them their dragons…..Once I got approval I got each of my sons a new juvenile to raise, and ended up getting me a male/female pair too. They were loaded with personality. We were hooked right away and of course I was left to read EVERYTHING about bearded dragons, feeders, lighting, substrate, care, exc. exc. My youngest and I have taken a great interest in red and orange colorings trans/hypo/leathers and now we have grown to the set of dragons listed on this site, and still going. All of our dragons and their babies are very well taken care of, and handled on a daily basis.

Popular as pets, bearded dragons or “beardies” are native to many areas of Australia, including the deserts and grasslands. They are moderate sized reptiles (18-24 inches long) whose curiosity and social personality make them ideal pets for people who enjoy interacting with their reptiles. While they are generally considered good pets even for first time reptile owners, they do have special requirements and need special equipment and a fair amount of time to care for properly. However, they are social and easy to tame and handle, with a range of traits that make them interesting to watch.
